We’re conveniently located between Sheffield and Leeds, close to Junction 40 of the M1. Not far from the epic scenery of the Pennines and Peak District, we’re only a couple of miles from the centre of Wakefield. Whether you’re shopping in town, seeing the sights in Ossett or visiting the National Coal Mining Museum for England a short drive away, there’s lots to see and do near us. 

Perhaps you’re working up your appetite at the gym across the road. Maybe you’re going for a walk around Pugneys Country Park and checking out the water sports. Whatever you’re up to, make sure you come to us hungry. 

 

A menu full of pub classics

Our food menu is packed with classic pub food, such as burgers, fish and chips, pies and lasagne. There are salads if you’re after a healthy option, while we also have a selection of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free meals. If you’re coming to us in the morning, then we have a full breakfast menu for you to pick from, including an all you can eat buffet. 

We like to put on a spread. This is best demonstrated by our awesome carvery, which features meats that are slow-roasted for 14 hours and all the trimmings. Yorkshire puds are mandatory in our neck of the woods, of course. A smaller version of our roast is available on our kids’ menu, where you’ll also find lots of other options to suit even the pickiest eater. 

That said, the promise of one of our desserts should be enough to make anyone wolf down their dinner. Can’t quite fit in a pudding? Why not go for a cakeaway. Most of our menu is available as takeaway, including our freshly baked cakes.

Everything you need in one place

If you can come and join us, our beer garden’s the place to be when it’s shorts weather. We’ve got tables outside near our outdoor playground, while we also have an indoor play area for cooler days. This is next to our family dining area, so you can keep an eye on your kids come rain or shine. 

There may be times when you need to keep your kids occupied with a phone or tablet, in which case you can log into our free WiFi. We have plug sockets you’re welcome to use, plenty of high chairs and disabled facilities.
