Meet the Combo Stack Burger

Picture this: a juicy beef patty AND a buttermilk chicken breast, stacked with smoked bacon and melted cheese. Surely this burger can't get any better right? Wrong – it's served with beef dripping gravy.

What makes us special

Birchwood Farm Pub, Glasshoughton

Looking for somewhere you can enjoy hearty food, refreshing drinks and good vibes in the Castleford area? You can stop your search at Birchwood Farm in Glasshoughton. Our pleasant little neighbourhood is only a short walk from the centre of town, while our pub restaurant is perfect for any occasion you’ve got coming up.

Proud of our Castleford roots

If you live in the area, you’ll probably know that we’re a rugby league town. Our Castleford Tigers are one of the oldest clubs in the world, playing at Wheldon Road just over a mile from us. Perhaps you’re looking for a new local for food and drinks before walking round to the ground. Or maybe you’re an away fan visiting from elsewhere, in which case we hope the Tigers aren’t as hospitable as we are!

There’s much more to our town than the rugby, of course. We were once home to Roman legions and Anglo-Saxons. We have a rich coal mining heritage. We’re surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire countryside and you’ll find us at the meeting point of the River Aire and the Calder. We’re also conveniently located near the M62 motorway, and we have plenty of car parking spaces if you’re passing through.

Here for you for every occasion

We’re just as suitable for a quick pitstop as we are for a relaxing family meal or drinks with your friends. We have a large beer garden for when the weather’s nice, and an indoor kids’ play area for when it’s not. If you can’t stay to eat with us, why not go for a takeaway, or order from the comfort of your home via Deliveroo or Just Eat.

If you can stay, we want you to be as comfortable as possible during your visit. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if there’s something in particular you need. But we do have disabled access, high chairs, free WiFi and plug sockets available for you to use, as well as an app for ordering from your table if you want to.

A comprehensive menu to please everyone

Our food menu is packed with pub classics. From pies and burgers to sharers, grills and fish and chips, we also have a selection of vegetarian and vegan options to choose between. Coming with your kids? We have an extensive childrens’ menu to suit every taste. You’re also spoilt for choice at breakfast, when you can feast on our all you can eat buffet.

Speaking of being spoiled for choice, we could certainly say the same about our Carvery. You can pick from a wide range of accompaniments including roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds, veggies and even salad for some fresh crispness. But the stars of the show are undoubtedly our slow-cooked meats, which we roast for up to 14 hours.

You might not think it can get much better, but wait until you see our desserts. You won’t believe the size of our cakes, although you may prefer some ice cream, pie or crumble instead.

Discover everything that’s great about our pub restaurant for yourself when you book your table.
