Lying on the outskirts of York, we’re within walking distance of the city centre if you don’t mind a bit of a stroll. As well as serving our regulars, we’re ideally positioned for a relaxing meal if you’re planning some sightseeing in our historic city. And what sights there are to see. 

York is one of the UK’s most historic cities, packed with cultural attractions including museums, theatres and cathedrals. Whether you’re walking along the iconic city walls or down the medieval cobbled shopping street, the Shambles, there’s plenty to do in our village too. We’d recommend a walk along the River Foss to work up your appetite.

 

A food menu full of classic pub food

Whatever you do before your visit, it’s our goal to fill you up when you’re here. Our food menu is packed with all the pub classics you’re after, such as burgers, pies and fish and chips – all coming in generous portions to satisfy even the mightiest hunger. This extends to our selection of desserts, which includes giant cakes we make in our kitchen.

It also applies to our carvery, where you’ll find 14-hour slow-roasted meats carved in front of your eyes. Served with all trimmings such as Yorkshire puds and roasties, our carvery’s available in different sizes, including for kids. We also have a wide range of other kids’ meals, as well as a breakfast menu that features an all you can eat buffet and plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. 

Can’t stay and eat with us? No problem. You can order pretty much all of our menu to take away, which you can either collect yourself or have delivered by Deliveroo or Just Eat. 

 

Everything you need for a fun family visit

If you can stay, then you may wish to sit in our family dining area. This is right next to our indoor kids’ play area, so you can keep an eye on your little ones while they have some fun with all our toys and games. When the sun’s out, you may prefer to take the gang outside and sit in our spacious beer garden. 

Wherever you park yourself, we can bring you a high chair if you need one. You can also make use of our free WiFi, disabled facilities and the online app we have for ordering and paying.
