Help us in our hunt for a ‘Good Egg’

We’ve been hunting for good eggs this Easter, and we now have five finalists! Choose your favourite below and the winner will get a £500 prize! If you vote, you will also be entered into a prize draw to win a £40 voucher!

Kyra

My 7 year old daughter Kyra has been through so much and is so selfless. She has raised so much for charity and continues to do so. For the past few years she has sold her pictures to raise money to buy Easter eggs for the local hospital and refuge. She has helped to collect Christmas presents for the local refuge and helped to organise a couple of days out for the women and children. She has helped with bake sales and carboot sales to raise money for various charities. She helped to organise a fundraiser to raise money for the children's ward at our local hospital. After one of my other daughters, Kyras sister, passed away last April she helped to organise a fundraiser to raise money for the hospital where she passed. Currently Kyra is collecting Easter eggs again and helping to organise an 'act of kindness day' in memory of her sister. She has also said that for her next birthday instead of presents she wants money donated to a girl in her school who has cystic fibrosis. She cares so much for everyone else. She will always ask to buy food and drinks for any homeless people we pass. She has been a ray of light in what has been a very difficult time.

Stacey

Stacey is the strongest bravest lady I know. We have been in a relationship just over 3 years. In that time she has overcome so many obstacles and illness including cancer scares and life threatening illness its unbelievable. Last year we were blessed with our first little boy after a very complicated pregnancy and him being early due to Stacey getting sepsis. This August we're due our second miracle after yet again a problem pregnancy and being told years ago we would never be parents. Stacey is community minded and spends what spare time she gets volunteering for the local community centre or hosting parties to raise money for charities. She is so selfless and puts everyone before herself. Being honest I'm probably not the most thoughtful man and I could do a lot more but she is the glue that keeps our family together and I couldn't be any prouder. I saw this and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to show my appreciation. Thank you for that opportunity.

Diane

She isn't being nominated for crime fighting or fund raising, saving someone from a burning building or fostering numerous amounts of children (all fantastic things however). I nominate my mum for the everyday support and the tiny things she does for my family that make a massive difference. Making my dinner after work so I don't have to worry and rush around, being a listening ear and offering good advice, looking after the children so I can get to the gym or on a rare date with my husband. She thinks of others before herself and has a poorly mum so every day she is helping and supporting someone in my family. I love her so much and although I bring her little treats I would love to show my appreciation with a big gesture.

Michael

My Dad is just incredible! My Mam is disabled as she has a lifelong spinal condition so my Dad has to do absolutely everything. He does all of the housework, walking the dog, making meals, caring for my Mam, working full time and still manages to be the most upbeat and funny person I know. I'm getting married in a few weeks and he's helped out with everything he can, and never expects any thanks or anything in return. He's just such a support to our whole extended family, and really deserves some recognition for what he does and the person that he is! He gets on with everyone he meets and I don't think anyone could possibly have a bad word to say about him.

Ruth

My lovely auntie is the best she always put everyone else before her self and will do anything for anyone sometimes she's too kind and ends up running around after everybody! I'm so so proud of her not only has she recently qualified as a teacher she also got the job at the school she really wanted. I really think she deserves a treat after a tough couple of months finding out her son has autism, but on the plus side it's only a few months till her wedding!!
